Responsibilities
The role and function of the Site Manager include the following duties and responsibilities:

• Supervising contracted staff
• Meeting subcontractors
• Visiting the site beforehand.
• Checking work processes to meet building regulations.
• Writing reports.
• Hiring workers.
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
• Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
• Monitoring the progress of the work.

• Using specialist construction management computer applications.
• Liaising with clients and reporting progress, professional staff (such as architects and surveyors ) and the public.

Skills & Qualifications
The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Site Manager:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Engineering
• 1 - 4 years relevant work experience.
• Prior working experience
• Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Knowledge of local building codes is crucial
