    Shift Supervisor

    About the Company

    Our Client,  a premier operator in the oil and gas industry, running a high-capacity ammonia production plant renowned for operational excellence and safety leadership. We are recruiting an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead our operations team and drive performance across all shifts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide overall leadership and supervision of shift operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant ammonia plant production.
    • Oversee DCS panel operators, field operators, and maintenance personnel during the shift, delegating tasks and monitoring performance.
    • Ensure adherence to operating procedures, safety protocols, and environmental standards at all times.
    • Manage shift handovers, ensuring clear communication of operational status, ongoing issues, and safety concerns.
    • Lead emergency response efforts, coordinating with HSE, engineering, and management teams during incidents.
    • Review and approve permit-to-work systems, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and hot work permits.
    • Drive operational KPIs including production targets, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability.
    • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
    • Mentor and develop shift personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
    • Liaise with plant management on operational performance, maintenance scheduling, and capital project execution.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
    • Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in ammonia plant operations, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Demonstrated expertise in ammonia plant processes including primary/secondary reforming, synthesis loop, and utilities.
    • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), HAZOP, and risk assessment methodologies.
    • Proven track record in managing diverse teams, conflict resolution, and performance management.
    • Excellent communication, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
    • Certifications in leadership, safety management (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH), or Six Sigma are advantageous.
