As a Senior UX Researcher, you will play a critical role in shaping our product strategy by uncovering deep insights into the needs, behaviours, and aspirations of our users-especially within Nigeria.Your research will directly influence how we design and deliver financial products that are accessible, intuitive, and impactful. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our solutions are grounded in real user needs and market realities.
What You’ll Do
Lead and execute end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research across the product lifecycle-from discovery to delivery.
Employ a range of methods including in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, usability testing, surveys, concept testing, and diary studies, with a focus on the Nigerian context.
Synthesize complex data into actionable insights and frameworks such as personas, journey maps, value proposition canvases, and mental models that drive empathy and alignment across teams.
Conduct market and industry research to stay ahead of fintech and consumer trends in Nigeria and comparable markets, including competitive and landscape analyses.
Partner with product managers, designers, marketers, and engineers to translate business challenges into research questions and deliver insights that inform product direction and business decisions.
Act as the subject matter expert on Nigerian user needs, guiding localization and supporting regional expansion strategies across Africa.
Advocate for research best practices, ethical standards, and the voice of the user throughout the organization.
Structure and scale research operations, including participant management, user recruitment, and maintaining organized research repositories.
Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels, driving alignment and action.
What You Need To Succeed
6+ years of experience in UX research or product research, ideally with digital products and B2C fintechs; experience in or researching African markets is essential.
Advanced expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing, interviewing, co-creation, concept testing, diary studies, literature reviews, and surveys.
Hands-on experience with research tools such as UserTesting, UsabilityHub, Maze, Typeform, Google Forms, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into actionable insights that drive product and business impact.
Proven track record of translating insights into tangible frameworks (personas, journey maps, value proposition canvases) that guide design and business teams.
Deep understanding of Nigerian consumers – their behaviours, aspirations, challenges, regulatory, and cultural contexts.
Ability to independently own and drive the strategy and execution of comprehensive research programs.
Experience structuring and scaling research practices, including participant management and research repositories; bonus for experience building or engaging with active user communities in Nigeria.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate research rationale and findings to diverse audiences.
