About the Role

HRLeverage Africa is recruiting on behalf of a reputable Audit Firm for the position of Senior Tax Associate. We are seeking an experienced and proactive tax professional with a strong background in tax compliance, tax advisory, and audit. The successful candidate will manage multiple client engagements, ensure regulatory compliance, provide strategic tax solutions, and build lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee tax compliance engagements for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare, review, and file statutory tax returns, including Companies Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE).
• Provide tax advisory and consulting services to clients across various industries.
• Represent clients during tax audits, investigations, and engagements with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and State Internal Revenue Services.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise clients on their implications.
• Identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Support audit engagements by providing tax-related expertise where required.
• Prepare tax reports, opinions, and other client deliverables.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members where necessary.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, CITN, or its equivalent is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3–5 years\' post-qualification experience in tax, audit, or accounting.
• Previous experience in an Audit Firm or Chartered Tax Practitioners firm is required.
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet strict deadlines.
