Senior Internal Control Officer at Fadac Resources

Our client is the foremost luxury goods company in Nigeria with a diversified portfolio that consist of over 13 of the world's most prestigious luxury brands. They are looking to fill the role of a Senior Internal Control Officer.

Job Responsibilities

• An internal control officer should monitor and measure an organization's resources, policies and procedures.
• The Internal controller is responsible for increasing the operational efficiency of organizations, detecting and eliminating fraud and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• An internal controller is essentially a policeman or watchdog in a company.
• His basic responsibilities are to develop policies and procedures, ensure their implementation and monitor compliance.
• The internal controller helps keep a company from engaging in potentially illegal or unethical activities that could get it into hot water.
• Effective internal control reduces the risk of asset loss, and helps ensure that plan information is complete and accurate, financial statements are reliable, and the plan's operations are conducted in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.
• To deal with daily transactions for the petty cash and ensure that reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis.
• To ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reports to the Head of Audit on all Control and Compliance issues as they arise for prompt actions to be effected.
• Prepares and communicates periodic financial and management and Reconciliation of invoices and payments,  daily sales with sales report.
• Reviews and appraises the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, compliance procedures and controls.
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Leverage partners, as needed, to ensure routine internal audits of Pact field offices and headquarters based on the risk assessment and annual audit plan;
•  Develop internal audit staff and/or modify and enhance internal audit processes as required by Pact organizational needs ;
• Submit audit updates, full reports, or executive summaries to Pact management. Prepare risk assessment analyses and develop tests of accounting records, internal controls, and accounting systems to ensure compliance with regulations, accounting principles, cost accounting standards, and contract/agreement provisions;
•  Conduct confirmation programs and compliance testing as necessary to supplement ongoing internal control reviews/audits;
•  Manage and monitor remediation efforts that result from individual internal audits, ensuring the documentation of completed corrective action plans by responsible country office staff;
•  Utilize and train others on the Pact Audit Administration database, as the official system of record and workflow for documenting internal and external audit programs.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of first degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years managing a team in retail or FMCG.
• Professional qualification is a must.
• Ability to build, execute and follow the company’s strategy;
• Proven ability to drive results and to manage teams;

• Experience in managing, coaching, mentoring and developing a team;
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
• Proficient use of Microsoft office Packages.
