Senior Information Technology Support Engineer at Medplus Ltd

Role Description:

• This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Information Technology Support Engineer based in Lagos.
• The Senior Information Technology Support Engineer will provide advanced technical support to store and head office users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
• The role includes overseeing help desk operations, prioritizing and escalating complex incidents, and ensuring high service availability for critical pharmacy and retail systems.
• The engineer will perform system administration tasks such as user account management, system updates, backups, and basic server and network maintenance.
• Responsibilities also include documenting solutions and procedures, training end users on systems and tools, collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders on technology projects, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT policies, security, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Technical Support and Help Desk Support, with experience handling Tier 2/3 incidents and user-facing issues.
• Solid foundation in Information Technology and System Administration, including user account management, updates, backups, and basic server or network support.
• Proven Troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity in a multi-site environment.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications (e.g., POS, inventory, or healthcare/pharmacy systems) is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant industry certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar) are beneficial.
• Strong customer-service orientation, clear communication skills, and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
