Senior Design Assistant (Interior Design) at Candid Solutions

We are seeking a motivated and proactive interior design assistant to join our dynamic interior design business. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has excellent organizational skills, possesses a ‘get up and go\' attitude, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced, creative environment. The role involves assisting with various interior design tasks, coordinating with clients and artisans, and ensuring quality control across multiple projects. Due to the nature of the job, the position is contract-based with flexible hours.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day interior designing tasks such as coordinating materials, tracking project timelines and supporting site setup.
• Schedule and set up meetings with clients, maintain open communication and follow up on client feedback or project requirements.
• Take accurate measurements using a measuring tape for room layouts, furnishings and decor placements on-site.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure it meets project standards, design specifications, and client expectations.
• Work closely with artisans, clients, and suppliers to manage timelines and ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain project records, budgets, and inventory using Microsoft Excel, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Assist in creating visual presentations, design boards, or mood boards using graphic design software to communicate design concepts to clients.
• Regular visits to job sites to monitor progress, solve on-site issues, and provide general project support.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s Degree/ HND in a Relevant field of study
• Proven Experience in interior design
• Basic understanding of interior design principles and an interest in the industry.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, practical, adaptable, and ready to take initiative in solving problems.
• Strong focus on quality control and ensuring projects meet the required design standards.
• Well-organised, with excellent time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and projects.
• Openness to learning new skills, tools, and techniques to stay updated with industry trends.
