We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Completion Engineer to join our upstream oil and gas operations in Nigeria.
The Senior Completion Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing completion activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of well completion programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in upstream oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, planning, and execution of well completion and workover programs for onshore and offshore wells.
Develop detailed completion designs, including equipment selection, fluid systems, and sand control strategies, to optimize well productivity and longevity.
Prepare completion programs, cost estimates, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and geoscientists, to align completion strategies with overall field development objectives.
Monitor and analyze completion operations, providing real-time technical support and troubleshooting to resolve challenges.
Conduct post-completion evaluations and prepare detailed reports to capture lessons learned and improve future operations.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior completion engineers and field personnel.
Manage completion budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and innovations to enhance completion engineering processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in completion engineering, with a focus on upstream oil and gas operations.
Professional certification is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of completion techniques, including sand control, hydraulic fracturing, intelligent completions, and well stimulation.
Proficiency in completion design software (e.g., WellCat, Prosper, or equivalent).
Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience working in multicultural teams.
Familiarity with Nigerian oil and gas regulations and industry standards.
