Senior Civil Engineering Manager III at Scruples Resources

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management:Lead and manage large-scale civil engineering projects, including infrastructure development, transportation systems, and urban planning, from initial concept through to completion. Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. Monitor project progress and implement adjustments to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Technical Leadership:Provide technical direction and guidance to civil engineering teams, ensuring adherence to high standards of engineering practice and safety. Oversee the design and implementation of civil engineering solutions, including site assessments, structural designs, and compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Team Management:Lead, mentor, and develop civil engineering staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching to enhance team capabilities and career development.
• Engineering Process Improvement:Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance civil engineering processes and efficiencies. Conduct regular reviews of engineering procedures and project workflows, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
• Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community representatives, to ensure project requirements and expectations are met. Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
• Risk Management:Identify potential risks associated with civil engineering projects and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Conduct risk assessments and manage project-related issues to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
• Compliance and Standards:Ensure all civil engineering activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Oversee the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Innovation and Technology:Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in civil engineering practices. Promote the adoption of innovative technologies and methods to enhance engineering solutions and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g. PMP) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a management or senior leadership position.
• Skills:Strong technical knowledge and experience in civil engineering disciplines, including structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering. Proven project management skills, with experience in leading complex infrastructure projects. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Effective leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
