    Senior Baker

    About this role

    • Gourmet Twist is looking for a creative and experienced Senior Baker to lead our daily production of artisanal banana breads, specialty cakes, and gourmet pastries.
    • This is a high-impact role requiring a professional who is ready to hit the ground running, bringing technical expertise and a passion for non-traditional baking to our fast-growing kitchen.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the full production cycle of signature banana breads, pastries, and specialty desserts.
    • Scaled recipe preparation ensuring consistency, flavor profile, and aesthetic presentation.
    • Monitor and manage oven temperatures, proofing times, and meticulous cooling processes.
    • Oversee inventory levels, ordering ingredients, and minimizing waste through efficient production.
    • Maintain rigorous health, safety, and sanitation standards within the baking department.
    • Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menu items and refine existing recipes.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of professional baking experience in a high-volume environment.
    • Mastery of pastry techniques and large-batch baking (specifically fruit-based breads and cakes).
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently during early morning shifts without direct supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple timers and tasks simultaneously.
    • Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and standing for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
    • Valid food handler’s certification and deep knowledge of food safety regulations.

    Nice to Have:

    • Formal culinary or pastry arts degree/certification.
    • Experience in kitchen management or leading a small team of junior bakers.
    • Portfolio of creative pastry work or experience in artisanal packaging.
