Senior Accountant at Kimberly Ryan

Job Summary:

• The ideal candidate will be the finance backbone of a fast-growing egg operation: own books, cash, inventory, collections, and farm cost accounting. We seek a hands-on accountant who knows poultry realities—feed, flock performance, breakage/shrink, route sales, and mobile- money cash-ups—and can turn field chaos into clean numbers, daily.

Responsibilities:

Core Accounting

• Maintain accurate books (TZS & USD) in ERP (Tally/QuickBooks/Zoho/SAP B1).
• Own AP/AR, bank & mobile-money (M-Pesa/Airtel Money/Tigo Pesa) reconciliations, petty cash.
• Prepare monthly closes: trial balance, P&L by site/route, balance sheet, cash-flow.
• Manage payroll, advances, statutory deductions; coordinate with local payroll provider if used.

Cost & Farm Accounting

• Build and maintain standard costs for eggs (feed, meds, labor, utilities, transport).
• Track feed usage, FCR, mortality, culls, and grading losses; reconcile eggs laid vs graded vs sold daily.
• Value inventory (feed, meds, packaging) and biological assets; run weekly stock counts and variance reports.
• Route/depot accounting: cash/COD controls, DSO, credit limits, bad-debt provisioning.

Controls & Compliance

• Implement and audit cash-up SOPs for drivers/outlets; surprise counts and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian taxes and filings in coordination with local consultants (e.g., VAT, withholding, payroll); maintain clean audit trails and EFD/e-invoicing records where applicable.
• Draft and enforce simple, practical finance SOPs for stores, purchases, and dispatch.

Reporting & Planning

• Daily dashboard: production, sales, ASP vs index, shrink/breakage, collections, cash on hand.
• Weekly: route profitability, feed variance, aging, working capital.
• Monthly: management pack with commentary, risks, and corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, vendor negotiations, and CAPEX tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Food Technology, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 7+ years accounting experience with poultry/eggs (non-negotiable).
• Strong cost accounting and inventory control chops; comfortable with biological asset logic.
• Proficiency in Tally or QuickBooks (or SAP B1/Zoho Books) and advanced Excel (lookups, pivots).
• Demonstrated success running cash-heavy, route-sales reconciliations and credit control.
• Clear, concise communicator; can train operators and enforce SOPs on the ground.
• Willing to relocate to Tanzania and work a farm-aligned schedule
