Job Descriptions

The tasks of the Senior Accountant include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and manage budgets.
• Develop and present financial statements.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting higher education finance.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective.
• Perform other accounting and financial-related tasks as required.

Qualifications

• must hold a minimum of a master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business
• Administration, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA).
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or
• supervisory role, preferably in higher education
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills
• NYSC discharge certificate or Evidence of Exemption
