Role Description

• This is a full-time hybrid role for an Accountant with treasury experience, based in Lagos. As the business scales quickly — with high transaction volumes and rapid velocity of cash flow — you'll support and strengthen our finance function. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining a robust ledger system with a keen focus on real-time reconciliation of cash and bank balances, owning day-to-day treasury operations, and supporting tax and statutory compliance. This is a hands-on role for someone who functions effectively under pressure with limited supervision, and who is intellectually curious, innovative, and constantly seeking improvements in work processes and procedures.

What You'll Do

• Manage day-to-day cash and treasury operations, including daily reconciliation of bank accounts and payment channels, resolving discrepancies at source
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage liquidity
• Own accounts payable and receivable — processing supplier and vendor payments and tracking amounts owed
• Maintain accurate books and records, including the general ledger and journal entries
• Support tax compliance (CIT, WHT, VAT, PAYE) and ensure timely remittance and filing with the relevant authorities
• Comply with regulatory guidelines on pension deductions, contributions, and remittance to PFAs
• Assist with the monthly payroll run
• Support period close and prepare schedules for management and external audit
• Apply and help maintain financial controls and approval processes
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce manual work and tighten controls

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of Finance and Accounting experience
• Treasury and cash management experience — essential
• A track record in a fast-paced, high-transaction-volume business (fintech, payments, e-commerce, gaming, FMCG, or similar)
• Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax and other statutory regulations, and compliance
• Advanced Excel and strong reconciliation skills, comfortable working with large transaction datasets
• A proactive problem solver and innovator, capable of improving and optimising work processes
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to function effectively under pressure with limited supervision

Nice to Have

• Experience in sports betting / gaming
• Proficiency in a data analytics tool (e.g. Power BI, SQL, or equivalent)
• Exposure to high-velocity cash flow environments and real-time reconciliation at scale
• Familiarity with Nigerian payroll and statutory remittance processes
