Maersk is looking for a Security Operations Center Coordinator to join our team in Nigeria.
This person will coordinate the operations of the Security Operations Center at APMT Onne, ensuring the effective monitoring and response to security incidents, and maintaining the integrity and security of the terminal’s infrastructure and assets.
Additionally, execute the APMM Global Security Framework and the Port Facility Security Plan.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the SOC, ensuring continuous monitoring of security systems and timely response to incidents
Coordinate with security personnel to manage and resolve security incidents efficiently
Maintain and update security protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Conduct regular training sessions for SOC staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
Provide a safe and secure operating environment for APMT staff
Maintain operational command of the SOC team, coordinating SOC operations to proactively identify threats and provide timely, accurate reporting
Implement and monitor APMT’s security processes within the SOC to ensure the protection of the terminal’s infrastructure and assets
Ensure all security systems, including CCTV, vehicle monitoring system, access control, and alarm systems, are functioning optimally
Conduct regular audits and assessments of SOC operations to identify areas for improvement
Deputize for the Assistant Security Manager as required
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including management, employees, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure cohesive security operations
Foster strong relationships with local law enforcement and security agencies
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on SOC activities and security incidents
Requirements
Accredited professional certification in Security Management or Risk Management with a Bachelor’s Degree
ISPS – PFSO qualification
Minimum of 3 years of experience in physical security management, preferably in a port or terminal environment
Relevant experience with public law enforcement and/or intelligence services is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective oral and written briefs and presentations
Proven experience in supervising SOC Operations and technology-based surveillance activities
In-depth knowledge of control room operations, including the operation and monitoring of surveillance, access management, and alarm systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of investigative procedures
High degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, and drive, with the ability to contribute to a team-based, multicultural work environment
Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development within Security/Risk Management
Highest level of integrity, tact, and discretion, with the ability to solve practical problems quickly and efficiently in high-stress situations
Ability to forge strong and effective relationships and resolve differences across organizational boundaries
Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
