    Satellite Sales Engineer

    Department: Commercial

    Role Summary

    • We are looking for a tech-savvy sales engineer to assist with the selling of satellite dishes and other related and ancillary services. The Satellite Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of P3’s satellite dish and service portfolio, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales with the needed technical expertise as per the clients' needs.
    • S/he must possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain Phase 3’s satellite services to customers.
    • Discussing equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers.
    • Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
    • Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and arranging deliveries.
    • Researching, developing and modifying P3’s satellite dish offerings to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
    • Helping customers who have problems with products and recommending improved or upgraded materials and services.
    • Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
    • Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to executive management.
    • Setting and achieving satellite dish sales goals and quotas.
    • Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's satellite dish products and services.
    • Support sales executives with solution selling into prospect account base
    • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles
    • Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity
    • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
    • Manage all technical aspects of RFI/RFQ responses
    • Effectively communicate client needs to the Engineering teams for future product enhancements
    • Collect and document competitive intelligence
    • Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work.
    • Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment and services meet the system requirements.
    • Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
    • Advise customers on how best to use the products or services purchases and in use already, for existing customers.
    • Collaborating with the Design and Engineering departments of the company to determine how products and services could be made or modified to suit the needs of the customer.
    • Using technical skills to demonstrate to potential customers the usefulness of P3’s satellite dishes and ancillary services and how it may suit the customer better than competing products.

    Person Specification
    Educational Qualification:

    • First Degree in Engineering: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
    • Master’s Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.

    Work Experience:

    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience of which 5 must have been in a supervisory capacity with key knowledge in Implementation and Integration of Satellite dish and satellite dish technology.
    • 3-5 years’ demonstrable experience in developing creative and client-pleasing solutions to complex business problems.

    Key Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong Customer Relationship Management Skills.
    • Dynamic and Creative; Ability to assimilate quickly and act decisively.
    • Good knowledge of network operation processes and interfaces
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Result oriented, good under pressure and meets deadlines
    • Open minded approach to solving problems and dealing with new challenges
    • Should have excellent sales and customer service skills.
    • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
    • Excellent knowledge of satellite dish technologies
    • Willingness to continue your sales and engineering education.
    • Creativity to approach sales and build customer relationships in groundbreaking new ways
