The Training Coordinator plans, schedules, and coordinates safety training activities delivered in the Safety Dojo Room, ensuring sessions are well-prepared, properly documented, and aligned with site HSE requirements and operational priorities.
The role supports trainers and learners by managing logistics, training records, learning materials, and continuous improvement actions to strengthen safe behaviors and reduce workplace risk.
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Safety Dojo Room, including room readiness, equipment availability, and adherence to housekeeping standards.
Maintain the training calendar: schedule sessions, manage invitations/attendance lists, and coordinate with departments to optimize learner participation.
Support facilitators with session logistics (sign-in sheets, assessment tools, and practical demonstrations).
Ensure training content and materials are current and controlled (version management) in line with company HSE standards and applicable regulations.
Manage training documentation: attendance, assessments, competency signoffs, and provide attendance register to all sites.
Track training participation in a dedicated register.
Prepare and circulate training communications (announcements, joining instructions, reminders, post-training feedback links).
Collect and analyze training feedback; raise improvement actions and support updates to the dojo modules and learning aids.
Support onboarding safety inductions for Contractors' personnel that cannot access e-learning through class sessions e.g. Golden rules, one-MAESTRO for all etc.
Coordinate site safety training requirements as applicable (induction, site rules, permits-to-work awareness etc.).
Ensure the dojo environment complies with safety requirements (risk assessments, safe use of tools/equipment, emergency procedures posted and known).
Qualifications
OND/HND/BSc in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years' HSE experience in oil and gas operations, coordinating training programs, classroom logistics and HSE administration (construction, logistics).
Familiarity with HSE management systems, safe work procedures, golden rules, and competence/mandatory training requirements.
Experience using SharePoint, Excel trackers, or similar recordkeeping systems.
Professional HSE or training certifications are an advantage (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH or local equivalents; Train-the-Trainer).
Required skills and competencies:
Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills with attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication; confident engaging with frontline teams, supervisors, and HSE leadership.
Customer-service mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Basic data analysis and reporting (training hours, compliance %, evaluation scores).
Confidential handling of employee records and adherence to data privacy requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
