Inspecting the structural integrity of reservoirs, including reviewing water quality samples and inspecting for construction defects or damage due to natural disasters
Conducting tests on new designs to ensure that they meet safety standards or are structurally sound
Evaluating water quality in reservoirs to detect contamination by harmful bacteria or other pathogens
Monitoring the status of equipment located at the reservoir site, such as pumps or valves
Coordinating with other engineers to ensure that designs meet construction requirements
Consulting with local government agencies to help plan for future growth in population or industrial activity
Conduct reservoir surveillance and monitoring to evaluate well and reservoir behavior.
Analyze and interpret reservoir data, including well logs, production data, and pressure transient analysis, to make informed recommendations.
Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to integrate geological and engineering data for comprehensive reservoir understanding.
Provide technical expertise in reservoir management, reservoir modeling, and well performance analysis.
Evaluates costs and estimates the production capabilities and economic value of oil and gas wells, to evaluate the economic viability of potential drilling sites
Perform economic evaluations and risk assessments to support decision-making processes.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in reservoir engineering.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
10 to 15 years of experience in reservoir engineering.
Proven expertise in reservoir simulation using industry-standard software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel).
Strong understanding of reservoir surveillance techniques and interpretation of reservoir data.
Experience in implementing and optimizing enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
Proficient in reservoir management and reservoir modeling.
Solid understanding of economic evaluations, risk assessments, and project economics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA)
Capability to manage and lead reservoir engineering projects.
In-depth knowledge of reservoir engineering principles, including reservoir simulation, fluid flow, well performance analysis, and material balance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
