    Radiologist

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Use images to diagnose, treat and manage a variety of medical conditions and diseases.
    • Offer specialist expertise and guidance to radiographers, doctors and staff from a range of medical specialties.
    • Liaise with other medical and non-medical staff in the oss to ensure quality treatment.
    • Examine patient anatomy, pathology, clinical history, and previous imaging.
    • Select appropriate radiology techniques for client’s diagnosis.
    • Manage the health and safety of clients and the radiology team by minimizing radiation exposure.
    • Write up imaging reports and report on cases to the clinic teams.
    • Carry out teaching of clinic staff, auditing, and research.
    • And any other duties as may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • MBBS Degree and Post NYSC.
    • Completion of Radiology specialist training program.
    • An analytical mind, an eye for detail and good observational skills.
    • A keen interest in anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
    • A good understanding of general medicine and surgery.
    • Manual dexterity for certain roles.
    • Good clinical knowledge across all specialties.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • The capacity to work well in a team and to manage others effectively.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills to engage with patients and to collaborate with and advise colleagues and other clinicians.
    • Strong written communication skills for accurate report writing.
    • A good eye for detail.

    Language Skills:

    • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
    • Knowledge of Local Language preferred.

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems, Power Point.
    • Other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance

    Work Environment:

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • The employee will be required to co-locate with local partners usually in the same office.
    • The employee is required to travel regularly to often insecure and limited-resource environments.
    • The employee will be required to work directly with populations that are vulnerable and at high risk of HIV and Human rights violation.
