    Quantity Surveyor/Procurement Officer

    About the Role

    We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Procurement Officer who will play a key role in ensuring effective cost management, efficient procurement, and financial oversight across all project stages, from initial feasibility to project completion. The ideal candidate is analytical, well-organized, skilled in negotiation, and experienced inconstruction cost control and vendor management.

     Key Responsibilities

    Quantity Surveying Responsibilities

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and tender documents.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments for current and upcoming projects.
    • Evaluate and certify contractors’ interim payment applications and variations.
    • Monitor project budgets and prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
    • Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and consultants to ensure cost efficiency.
    • Manage contract documentation and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
    • Conduct post-contract evaluations and prepare final account settlements.

    Procurement Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project needs.
    • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to secure competitive prices and quality materials.
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and supplier performance reports.
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws.
    • Work closely with project teams to forecast material requirements and prevent project delays.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in quantity surveying and/or procurement within the construction industry.
    • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and tendering processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy, QS CAD).
    • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
    • High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Membership of NIQS or any related professional body (an added advantage)
