Brief Job Description

• The Quality Control Manager will oversee the quality control processes and procedures in the company and ensure that products meet the specified quality standards and are delivered to customers in a consistent and reliable manner.
• He/she will implement and maintain quality control programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that products or services meet the necessary quality standards.
• In addition, the quality control manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards, stay up-to-date on changes to industry standards and regulations and ensure that the company is in compliance with them.
• He/she will play an essential role in ensuring that production meets the necessary quality standards and ensure products are delivered to customers in a consistent and reliable manner, contributing to the company’s overall success and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Establishing and maintaining quality control checkpoints and inspection procedures throughout the production and service delivery process
• Develops quality assurance plans and procedures by initiating preventive measures plans, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures.
• Develop and review standard operating procedures
• Investigating customer complaints or product recalls and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
• Collaborating with other departments, such as research and development and marketing, to develop new products and improve existing ones.
• Manage the company laboratory and packaging team
• Ensures full compliance with QA/QC system/plan and management systems
• Ensures finished goods are produced in line with standard requirements and specifications
• Identify source of non-conformity and implemented control measures
• Championing root cause analysis (RCA) in the event of quality defect or system failure
• Maintains cordial relationship with all government regulatory agencies NAFDAC, SON etc. and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory/ requirement
• Conducts internal audit and handling of all external audits relating to food management systems

Qualifications and Requirements

• A Degree / Higher National Diploma in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Industrial chemistry and any other related fields
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality control role within the dairy industry
• In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and regulations specific to the dairy industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing quality control tests and inspections
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP and GMP
• Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
