Quality Assurance Engineer at Decagon

Reports To: CTO

Mission of the Position

• You will perform quality assurance functions for large software development projects and you will be responsible for performing UI and integration testing for software applications and modular code libraries.

Position Description

• Ensuring applications meet functional design specs
• Ensuring applications meet graphic design specs
• Ensuring that developers have performed unit tests where applicable
• Testing Web applications on a wide variety of platforms, browsers, and device configurations
• Following documented workflow for product evaluation
• Reporting and assigning issues using project management systems
• Communicating with other team members to solve problems
• Following up on all reported issues to ensure customer acceptance of solutions
• Train new quality insurance members on quality assurance processes.

Preferred Years of Experience

• 5+ years of experience testing web applications using a structured testing methodology.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

• 5+ years of experience with software testing of web-based applications using a structured testing methodology
• Good understanding of time tracking applications
• Ability to use Jira / Confluence project management software;
• Familiar with Agile, Kanban, and Scrum
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of slack and basecamp
• Ability to work with diverse teams
• Superb written and verbal communication.
