QC Inspector at JMG

Brief Description

Lead the daily quality work of the Electrical Assembler team by implementing policies and procedures and ensuring efficient work flow. Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

Duties

• Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production quality standards.
• Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.
• Inspect, test and measure materials or products being produced.
• Manage on the job training and ongoing coaching to maintain high level of quality outputs.
• Ensure quality expectations of our customers are achieved supporting Work Instructions & Procedures in accordance with Company Quality Managed System.
• Supervise the activities of the Electrical Assembler team and supports manufacturing and safety objectives.
• Ensure all daily production plans are met with company quality standard.
• Work closely with Health & Safety Specialist to ensure a safe environment for employees.
• Report inspection and test data, documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
• Remove all products and materials that fail to meet with the specifications.
• Conducting of quality inspection check at post testing, detect and ensure that defected Genset are corrected before shipment to Gbagada.
• Take up IMS responsibilities such as reporting unsafe act, condition or procedure in the work place, participating in fire or emergency drill at work, participating in incident reporting and investigation when necessary and adherence to Company policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quality assurance, Quality Management, Manufacturing Management preferably. Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), as well as Six Sigma certifications would be a plus. Min 3-5 years of proven work experience as Quality Inspector or relevant role.
