Purchase Manager / Officer - Agro Commodities at Ascentech Services Limited

Job Purpose

• The Purchase Manager/Officer Agro Commodities will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring agro commodities including sesame, soybean, cocoa, and hibiscus flower.
• The role involves developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and managing the procurement process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for agro commodities in line with the company's objectives
• Source, negotiate and procure high-quality agro commodities from local and international suppliers
• Ensure timely delivery of goods in accordance with agreed contracts and specifications
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and identify opportunities for supplier optimization.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to inform purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
• Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including issuing purchase orders, tracking delivery, and resolving supplier disputes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Business, or Supply Chain Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing agro commodities, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and supplier optimization.
• Familiarity with agro commodity markets, suppliers, and industry trends.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with procurement software.
