    Project Officer

    Position Summary

    FOURCi is seeking a proactive, skilled, and passionate Project Officer to lead the implementation of a new project aimed at enhancing the socio-economic recovery and political participation of women and young women in peacebuilding through climate-smart practices in Adamawa State. The officer will work closely with community stakeholders, CSOs, government actors, and project beneficiaries to ensure the smooth implementation and success of the project’s activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and supervise project activities in the four target LGAs (Fufore, Michika, Hong, and Yola South).
    • Facilitate training sessions on climate-smart agriculture, disaster risk reduction, environmental conservation, and gender-responsive peacebuilding.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and beneficiary engagement.
    • Strengthen the capacity of five local CSOs on climate resilience and environmental advocacy.
    • Coordinate community mobilization, awareness campaigns, and local dialogues promoting women’s leadership in peacebuilding.
    • Ensure timely data collection, reporting, and documentation of success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
    • Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and local partners to foster collaboration and sustainability.
    • Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, project timelines, and reporting requirements.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • At least 4 years of experience in community-based project implementation, preferably in climate change, women’s empowerment, or peace building.
    • Proven experience in working with women’s groups, CSOs, or local communities in Northeast Nigeria.
    • Strong knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, DRR, and gender mainstreaming.
    • Excellent facilitation, communication, and community mobilization skills.
    • Experience in project reporting, data collection, and use of participatory tools.
    • Fluency in English and at least one local language (Hausa, Fulfulde, or Margi) is required.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
