Job Summary

• A Project Manager with a Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Architectural background who will be saddled with the responsibilities for the planning, management and completion of a project within designated timeline and budget. Emphasis shall be placed on hands-on experience.

• Review the project schedule with the Project Coordinator and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required.

• Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
• Execute the project according to the project plan.
• Coordinate the activities of main/sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers and ensure timely delivery to quality and budget.
• Develop forms and records to document project activities.
• Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
• Prepare certificates of payment sequel to project completion. 
• Write reports on the project for USL management.
• Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for management.
• Prepare certificate of payment after each settlement.
• Negotiate in collaboration with the project QS and Procurement Head with all vendors, suppliers and technical partners for the best price which balances price and quality. 
• Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
• Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6-10 years hand-on post-NYSC related experience in construction management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying from a reputable institution.
• Membership of relevant Professional bodies.
• Background in reviewing Architectural and Engineering drawings to ensure specifications and regulations are followed.
• Must possess good business judgment; an understanding of legal issues and contracts.
• Computer proficient in Windows, MS Program, Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD and the Internet.
• Outstanding people leadership and management skills.
• Must be able to manage budgets, timelines and construction schedules with an extreme attention to detail, and grade a quality.
• Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, BOQs.
• Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
