Project Engineer & Scrum Master at Code Lab IT & Engineering Services

Role Overview

• Codelabprojects Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project  Engineer & Scrum Master to coordinate and oversee the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of technology,  engineering, digital, operational, and client-related projects across the organization.
• The successful candidate will serve as a key link between Management, project teams, technical teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• The role is responsible for ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined, tasks are properly assigned, blockers are resolved, timelines are maintained, and deliverables are completed to the required standard.
• The ideal candidate should have strong project management, technical coordination, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities, together with practical knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. While software and technology projects may form part of the portfolio, the role is not limited to software development and will require the ability to coordinate different types of projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Project Engineering & Delivery:

• Coordinate the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of technology, engineering, digital, operational, and client projects.
• Translate business and client requirements into clear project objectives, tasks, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including technical, engineering, software, design, marketing, operations, and support teams.
• Monitor project progress, identify blockers, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, and ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure projects remain aligned with approved scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Coordinate project testing, implementation, deployment, commissioning, handover, and post-delivery support where applicable.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and team performance to ensure timely completion.
• Review project requirements and proposed solutions and provide practical recommendations to Management.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, task records, project plans, reports, and delivery records.

Scrum Master & Agile Delivery:

• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, where applicable.
• Ensure relevant project teams follow established Agile principles, Scrum practices, and CodelabProjects' internal delivery methodology.
• Identify, track, escalate, and facilitate the removal of blockers affecting project or team performance.
• Work closely with Team Leads, Product Owners, project stakeholders, and team members to prioritize and manage tasks.
• Monitor project and sprint progress, task completion, team performance, and delivery timelines.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, transparency, ownership, and continuous improvement across project teams.
• Maintain project boards and ensure tasks are properly assigned, updated, tracked, and completed.
• Identify project risks and dependencies early and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide regular project status updates to Management and escalate significant risks, delays, or resource requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

• Serve as a key coordination point between clients, Management, project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure client requirements are properly understood, documented, communicated, and translated into actionable project activities.
• Provide clients and Management with clear and timely updates on project progress, deliverables, risks, and timelines.
• Coordinate client feedback and ensure required actions are communicated to the relevant teams.
• Ensure project deliverables meet agreed specifications, quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.

Project Quality & Performance:

• Monitor project performance and ensure deliverables meet established quality standards.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and potential project failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate quality checks, reviews, testing, and validation activities across projects.
• Track project KPIs and provide Management with relevant performance reports.
• Support continuous improvement of project management processes, workflows, and delivery methodologies.

General Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while maintaining delivery standards.
• Ensure project activities are properly documented and tracked through the company's project and ticketing systems.
• Promote a culture of accountability, quality, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Support Management in planning and executing new organizational initiatives and projects.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science,  Project Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience in project management, project engineering, technical project coordination, operations management, Scrum Master, or a related role.
• Must be above 30 years of age.
• Proven experience managing or coordinating multiple types of projects, preferably within a technology-driven,  engineering, consulting, or service-oriented organization.
• Strong practical understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Demonstrable experience facilitating Agile teams or serving as a Scrum Master.
• Strong understanding of project planning, execution, risk management, quality control, and delivery.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and coordinate technical teams, even where the project is not purely software-based.
• Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Trello, ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of software development processes and technical project environments is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of project documentation, reporting, task management, and workflow coordination.
• Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, risks, dependencies, and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively with technical, engineering, operations, marketing, creative, and business teams.
• Professional certification such as PMP, CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• This is a fully on-site role in Abuja. Candidates must be available to work from the company's office in Sabon-Lugbe, Abuja.
