Program Manager at GVA Partners

Our client, a top tier Commercial Bank requires the services of a Program Manager with experience in iterative development project delivery who will be responsible for building and leading a team of Project Managers to provide professional growth and ensure successful project delivery.

The Program Manager will be responsible for organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization and track the progress of the projects, develop reports, milestones and budget as well as Interface with System integrators to deliver work.

Responsibilities:

• Formulating, organizing, and monitoring inter-connected projects
• Coordinating cross project activities.
• Apply change, resource, and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Lead and evaluate project managers and other related staff.
• Resolve projects’ higher scope issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Program Delivery.
• Participate in all IT Planning and policy development efforts.
• Facilitate the resolution of any issues encountered.
• Assist with quality management for solutions deployment and day-to-day operations.
• Oversees the production of periodic project reports for senior management.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• BSc in any Science, Technology or Engineering related course
• 10 - 12 years' working experience as a project manager, preferably in a financial institution.
• Experience with iterative development project delivery
• Professional Scrum Master, Professional Product Owner, Program Management Professional (PGMP), Management, Project Management Professional PMP, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
• Competency in project management tools
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
• Proven experience as a program manager or other managerial position
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
• Demonstrable experience leading Agile projects as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
• Risk management experience in project management
• Sound understanding of change management practices.
• Good understanding of the financial services industry and the need for periodically embarking on IT enabled business change projects.
• Adequate knowledge of package implementation of integrated systems
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Organization and coordination skills
• Performance management
• Initiative/ Entrepreneurship/ taking ownership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
