    Production / Factory Manager

    Job Purpose

    • Produce items of the right quality, right quantity, at the right time and at minimum cost.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities
    Staff Management & Operational Duties:

    • Planning, organizing and meeting up with production schedules
    • Determine and align quality control and production processes with Company’s objectives.
    • Maintain optimum operation by creating a detailed production plan schedule.
    • Keep up with the effective running of the factory by forecasting and preventing down-times
    • Supervise factory workers
    • Schedule periodic maintenance of equipment within the factory
    • Introduce new product designs and maintain timeline for product development and launching
    • Monitor and ensure health and safety regulations are met
    • Liaise with procurement in selecting, ordering and purchasing production materials
    • Identifying, recommending and sup training needs of production Staff
    • Estimating, negotiating and drafting budget and timescales with clients and managers
    • Coordinate work sharing and schedule for production staff
    • Recommend efficient methods and machines for production to Management
    • Oversee factory workers, production and efficiency of the machines to make sure the factory is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently, effectively and safely
    • Liaise with HR to optimize human capital
    • Liaise with the Human Resources Manager on company’s policies and procedures and communicate same to the factory workers.
    • Produce timely periodic report to Management

    Strategic Production Planning Duties:

    • Create a system and plan a strategy for the factory to be more systematic and organized
    • Oversee factory workers, production, and efficiency of the machines to make sure the factory is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently, effectively and safely

    • Ensure safety regulations and policies are implemented among the factory workers in accordance to Standards Organization of Nigeria
    • Assist in costing of finished products and determining labour rate on item produce
    • Responsible for contributing to and carrying out production strategy decisions.

    Regulatory and Quality Control Duties:

    • Ensure safety regulations and policies are implemented among the factory workers
    • Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures are in place and applied rigorously.
    • Collect and look through data to find places of waste or places for improvement
    • Ensure compliance of worker’s safety as well as monitor the production equipment to make sure that they stay in good working order, and repair or replace the equipment when needed.
    • Maintain close relationship with every department of the factory to make sure everything runs smoothly.
    • Plan production activities, production meetings, machine maintaining schedules, worker schedules and budget maintenance schedules and quality of products.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

    • Meet production targets
    • New product design lines
    • Production cost saving
    • Production downtime
    • Production quality output

    Academic Qualifications (Minimum)

    • B.Eng / B.Tech in Woodwork Processing, Engineering or Production Field

    Relevant Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in furniture Manufacturing
    • Track record achievement as a production/Factory Supervisor

    Knowledge:

    • Excellent Knowledge of production, maintenance, trouble shooting, business acumen

    Other Qualifications:

    • Project Management Certification, COREN or its equivalent

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    • Proven experience in Furniture Manufacturing and designs
    • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and Operational Management
    • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
    • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office Suites
    • Good knowledge of market and sales lead.
