Production Engineer at African Industries Group (AIG)

Description

• We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Production Engineer to oversee production activities, welding operations, and manufacturing processes while ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with established procedures.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in production planning, shop floor management, process improvement, and continuous operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage production activities and monitor execution in line with production plans
• Oversee welding and manufacturing operations across fabrication processes
• Prepare and maintain daily production reports in line with MIS and ISO procedures
• Coordinate shop floor activities, manpower allocation, and workflow execution
• Monitor machine performance and optimize cycle times to improve productivity
• Analyze root causes of rejection and rework and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IMS procedures, documentation, and audit requirements
• Maintain production discipline, housekeeping, and operational standards
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• COREN registration is an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in production engineering
• Experience in fabrication of structures within: Oil & Gas, Transmission Towers, Telecom Towers, Solar Structures.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of fabrication processes and welding techniques
• Experience operating CNC punching, plasma cutting, hydraulic press, drilling, and fabrication equipment
• Ability to interpret fabrication and structural drawings
• Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems and ISO documentation
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of 5S methodology and general safety practices.
