    Product UI/UX Designer

    • Are you a skilled Product UI/UX Designer experienced in crafting scalable user experiences and interfaces? If so, you're exactly who we're searching for. The straitPay team is actively seeking a Product UI/UX Designer to join our ranks.
    • We're looking for someone who not only possesses a strong sense of teamwork but also has a keen eye for visual design, usability, and enhancing the user experience. Join us in shaping the future of fintech in Africa.

    Responsibilities

    • Create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces that align with our brand guidelines.
    • Working with Agile project teams and key stakeholders to develop and own the delivery of user-centered solutions.
    • Develop storyboards, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate and design ideas for strategic projects and product developments.
    • Participating in user research and leveraging user analytics to gauge the usability of new and existing products/features, with the ability to analyze and predict user behavior.
    • You’ll also use inputs from multiple sources to understand and empathize with customers and team members' needs, to create effective and innovative customer and user journeys.
    • Participating in sprint and iteration planning, refinement, retrospectives, and iteration reviews.
    • Collaborating with project stakeholders to help understand and define customer value.
    • Design and test UI elements such as menus, CTAs, banners, page layouts, flows, and landing pages on web and mobile platforms.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience as a Product designer or a UX/UI designer with a Portfolio showcasing your skills.
    • Experience in leading projects and managing design projects.
    • Work closely with our Head of Product in strategizing and designing user interfaces for new product developments.
    • Strong storytelling and presentational skills; both verbal and written.
    • Experience in working with Agile teams – with developers, designers, product managers, and testers.
    • Knowledge of industry-standard methods – responsive design, material design, design system.
    • Advanced usage of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, and Miro.
    • Passionate about research methods, user-centric design, and tracking data (i.e. Google Analytics).
    • High attention to detail with a sharp eye for aesthetics.
    • Innovative approach to solving UX and UI problems.
    • Curious and eager to learn new methods.
    • Able to manage a busy workload with minimal supervision.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Design, computer, or a related field (not mandatory).
