    Procurement Executive

    Job Summary

    • The Procurement Executive is responsible for procurement planning, costing, negotiation, warranties, specifications and related supply chain and logistics management functions for several projects and administrative requirement within the business.
    • The individual will ensure cost-effective procurement of supplies, equipment and services for all Installations and maintenance contracts of the company. This includes expanding and developing OEM relationships.
    • All services will be guided my ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System.
    • The company strategic objective implementation and the E-COMMERCE SHOP inventory management and delivery tracking are core functions of the procurement executive.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Development of procurement strategies for preparation and presentation to Management.
    • E-Shop Management
    • Manage the procurement operations in the Procurement department of the organisation
    • Meticulously manage all aspects of procurement from negotiation to delivery.
    • Promote safety and awareness among Supply Chain and Vendor staff aimed at zero accident / incident rate.
    • Accountable for approval of Bid-Lists and purchase orders up to certain limit of authority.
    • Participate in prequalification of suppliers as necessary and evaluation of commercial bids.
    • Preparation of negotiation strategies and procurement negotiations as appropriate.
    • Ensure awards of Contracts and Purchase Orders are in compliance
    • Accountable for reviewing and approving suppliers’ requests for payment with respect to vendors, ensuring all obligations are met before payment.
    • Ensure all Contract and Purchase Order close-out is undertaken in a timely manner, including the resolution of claims as and when required.
    • Oversee estimation of Freight costs and call-off freight forwarding services from suppliers, to meet required on-site dates at minimum costs.
    • Liaise with Clearing Agents for Sea and Air cargoes supplies for seamless clearance.
    • Ensure the use of CRM-ERP for Contracting and Procurement transactions.
    • Provide sound advice on specifications and actively takes the lead negotiating high value contracts.
    • Readily took ownership and confidently handled complex / difficult negotiations that regularly.
    • Manage the horde of low-end suppliers and vendors professionally.
    • Any other assigned roles by the Management.

    Qualifications

    • Degree or HND qualification in Engineering or Purchasing & Supplies / Supply Chain Management
    • HSE Qualification is an added advantage.
    • 5 years.of experience in Purchasing and Supplies especially in HSE portfolio.

    Competencies:

    • Strategic Procurement skills acquired within the HSE sector.
    • Ability to exploit opportunities to gain best value in procurement and supplier management.
    • Possess in-depth knowledge & experience of diverse range of markets and commodities in the HSE sector.
    • Proficient in design, implementation and management of inventory control systems.
    • General knowledge of the Nigerian HSE market must be very good.
    • Have a high level of commercial acumen.
    • A proactive self-starter and achiever.
    • Sound Negotiation skills.
    • Pro-active customer relationship management skills.
    • Team leadership skills.
    • Knowledge of Supply chain management skills.
    • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships, global logistics management.
    • Leads, coordinates, negotiates and knows how to take decisions when necessary.
    • Has technical knowledge and is profit minded.
    • Ability to prioritize and schedule work to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication & reporting skills- written and oral.

    • Main Contractors.
    • Sub-contractors.
    • Clients’ representatives.
    • Operations Team.
    • Finance Team (Stores).
    • Technical Sales Team.
    • Regulatory Agencies.
    • Clearing Agents.

    Travel Time:

    • The job requires 50% travel time from the job holder.
    • Proximity to Job location is preferred.

    Language:

    • Proficiency in English Language (Written & Spoken) is a must.
    • Knowledge of one or more international language is added advantage.
    • Ability to speak other local Nigerian languages is a plus.
