Job Summary

• The Powerhouse Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising the field operations of the electrical systems in the powerhouse during their assigned shift. 
• This includes ensuring proper functioning of switchgear, transformers, power distribution systems, and responding to any electrical abnormalities. 
• The role bridges the communication between control room and field operations and ensures safety compliance, accurate reporting, and disciplined execution of tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all field activities related to electrical systems during shift.
• Monitor operation of switchboards, circuit breakers, and power panels.
• Conduct field inspections of transformers, MCCs, and distribution boards.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Respond to electrical issues, alarms, and provide initial troubleshooting support.
• Ensure backup systems (DGs/UPS) are checked and ready.
• Report operational status and incidents to Shift Engineer and log activities.
• Supervise and support switchboard operators and helpers.
• Ensure cleanliness, order, and maintenance readiness of electrical rooms.
• Participate in shift handovers and maintain communication with control room.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Diploma or HND Electrical Engineering.
•  Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Electrical Competency Certificate preferred).
• 10–15 years in electrical field operations in a power plant, with 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
