Postdoctoral Research Scientist at International Foundation Against Infectious Disease in Nigeria

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work on the interdisciplinary One Health Research project. The successful applicant will be mentored by senior researchers and will be provided with a supportive environment that emphasizes laboratory skill acquisition, critical thinking, and innovation, with the goal of applying for external funding.

The fellow would engage in independent and collaborative research within the group, with a focus on microbial and genomic studies using one health approach.

To be considered you will need:

• A PhD in a relevant field such as medical microbiology, molecular and cellular biology, epidemiology, or a related discipline with comparable experience
• 1-2 years’ work experience in NGO data analysis (WGS, meta-genomics)
• A good publication record

Essential Criteria/Preference

• Experience in writing manuscripts, technical reports, or other professional writing outputs
• Experience engaging with local or international partners/ stakeholders
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working on interdisciplinary projects
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis software (Stata, SAS, SPSS, or R)

Remuneration

A competitive salary package will be offered based on experience and duration post-completion of PhD.
