    Portfolio Manager

    Role Description

    • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Portfolio Manager, located in Lagos. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing investment portfolios, performing financial analysis, making strategic investment decisions, and engaging in trading activities. The role also involves working closely with clients to achieve their financial goals while adhering to market regulations and standards. The hybrid structure allows for a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

    Responsibilities

    • Construct and manage diversified portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends.
    • Allocate assets in line with each client’s IPS and acceptable risk levels.
    • Communicate investment instructions to brokers and counterparties.
    • Stay up to date with relevant investment news, trading developments, and economic indicators.
    • Develop and implement investment strategies based on clients’ Investment Policy Statements (IPS).
    • Research and generate investment ideas (bonds, stocks) for clients and proprietary trading.
    • Draft investment memos for the Investment Committee.
    • Prepare detailed performance reports and present insights to senior management and clients.
    • Utilize financial models and analytics to forecast returns and assess portfolio health.
    • Generate periodic investment reports and documents (e.g., mutual fund factsheets, quarterly reports for discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios).
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, Trustees, SEC regulations, and other relevant authorities.
    • Conduct risk assessments and recommend positions on corporate actions.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, updating them on market conditions, research, and portfolio performance.
    • Liaise with external fund managers, brokers, real estate partners, and Trustees on fund-related issues.
    • Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, liquidity planning, and capital allocation.
