    Portfolio Manager

    Our client, a global investment management firm, is looking to hire a Portfolio Manager who is responsible for managing client-specific investment portfolios and ensuring daily oversight, mandate compliance, accurate reporting, and seamless execution.

    This role bridges investment strategy with real-time portfolio activity, spanning asset allocation, trade oversight, liabilities reporting, and client-level analytics. The Portfolio Manager works closely with Wealth, Fund Management, and Quant teams to deliver a consistent and high-performing investment experience for clients. 

    This role reports to Senior Fund Manager.

    Responsibilities

    Client Portfolio Management & Execution Oversight

    • Structure and manage discretionary client portfolios aligned with investment objectives and strategy
    • Execute portfolio-level trades and rebalance instructions, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and timely completion
    • Track all SMA portfolios to ensure allocations remain aligned with client mandates; escalate anomalies

    Fund Administration & Daily Operational Tracking

    • Prepare and share daily transaction updates summarizing activities across all portfolios
    • Track and manage autopay mandates to ensure correct processing of standing client instructions
    • Review and share the Daily SMA Portfolio Update, flagging breaches, shortfalls, or unexpected movements
    • Monitor and document upfront interest payments, redemptions, and special payout instructions, ensuring timely execution
    • Oversee internal portfolio dashboards and ensure data integrity for all active accounts
    • Collaborate with Finance to align daily trade data with accounting and treasury operations

    Liability Reporting

    • Ensure timely preparation of the liabilities report, capturing outstanding obligations, scheduled payments, and leverage positions to support portfolio rebalancing and liquidity management decisions

    Client Reporting & Communication

    • Lead Portfolio Strategy Calls and work with the Wealth Management team to hold client portfolio reviews
    • Maintain clear audit trails and communication records on investment actions tied to client accounts
    • Ensure client-facing materials are updated and error-free ahead of review sessions

    Product Support & Collaboration

    • Maintain up-to-date product sheets for managed portfolio offerings
    • Collaborate with the Fund Manager and Head, Business Development on input for quarterly product marketing decks
    • Share performance trends, rebalancing insights, and mandate feedback for product refinement

    Trade Execution Accuracy & Controls

    • Executes client trades for both fixed income and equities as requested
    • Oversee settlements and liaise with custodians to ensure operational accuracy
    • Track trade slippage, settlement errors, and compliance with internal mandates
    • Ensure no outstanding trade anomalies go unaddressed beyond SLA

    Team Leadership & Strategic Support

    • Coach junior team members in portfolio operations and investment thinking
    • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and investment projects as assigned

    Must have skills

    • Strong communication skills
    • Attention to details
    • Strong understanding of fund accounting.
    • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
    • CFA, CAIA, or equivalent certification preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, investment strategy, or asset allocation.
    • Expertise in portfolio optimization, risk-adjusted return analysis, and financial modelling.
    • Strong understanding of fund accounting.
    • Deep knowledge of macroeconomic trends, sector research, and asset pricing models.
    • Proficiency in financial and analytical tools, including:
      • Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, Morningstar (investment research & market intelligence).
      • Excel (VBA), Python, R (quantitative modelling & statistical analysis).
      • Tableau, Power BI (data visualization & investment analytics).
