Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely transport company staff as well as finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, farms, retail and other distribution centers.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
• Refuel and clean vehicle.
• Report road accidents to the direct supervisor and the maintenance department.
• Follow traffic laws.
• Ensure that vehicle documents/particulars are correct and up to date.
• Document and log work periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Document loading and unloading process where necessary.
• Comply with driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations and parking) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a positive attitude with staff and customers at all times.
• Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance.
• Must be able to resolve emergency and non-emergency situation that occur on the way to and from any official task
• Keep commercial driver’s license up to date.
• Collet and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress regulations.
• Assist in training associates when assigned
• Comply with company policies and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
