Job Description

• As a Podcast Editor, you’ll be responsible for editing and producing high-quality podcast episodes that engage and resonate with audiences.
• From polishing audio to adding music and sound effects, to creating social media clips, your expertise will help podcasts stand out.

Responsibilities

• Edit and enhance podcast episodes to ensure high-quality sound and storytelling flow.
• Clean up audio, remove background noise, and balance sound levels.
• Add intros, outros, ads, sound effects, and music as needed to enhance listener experience.
• Collaborate with clients and hosts to align on tone, pacing, and overall direction.
• Optimize podcasts for different platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, etc.) to maximize reach and listener retention.
• Stay up-to-date with podcast trends, formats, and platform best practices.
• Manage and organize audio files and episode archives.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice and quality standards.

Requirements

• HND / OND qualification
• Proven experience editing podcasts or audio content.
• Deep proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity, Descript).
• Strong understanding of podcast platforms and their requirements.
• A creative mindset with an ear for storytelling, pacing, and audience engagement.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound quality.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

• A portfolio showcasing podcast episodes you’ve edited or produced.
• Experience working with multiple podcast formats (interviews, solo episodes, panel discussions, etc.).
• Familiarity with optimizing podcasts for YouTube (video podcasts) is a plus.
• Knowledge of copyright-safe music, sound effects, and licensing is a bonus.
