The Digital Platform Developer is responsible for the design, build and management of digital platforms on which digital products are offered to CMB’s prospects and customers.
The Developer will also be responsible for the development of services and APIs for external 3rd party integrations. He/she will work closely with outsourced teams responsible for digital platform development and will serve in a supervisory role in these engagements while also assisting with support and development work.

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
Assist with technical guidance for vendor selection and management
Establishes procedures to solve complex problems regarding platform capacity and limitations, operating time, and output
Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains and documents efficient, reusable, and reliable code written with respect to the digital platform
Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
Follow emerging technologies
Collaborate with other team members to build state of the art solutions
Performs at an advanced technical level and understands all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
Responsible for quality assurance review of assigned project
Manage any other responsibility as assigned by line manager
Education and Experience
Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in a business /IT related discipline, Master's Degree in an appropriate field of study will be an added advantage
4+ years professional experience in professional web development, experience working on a variety of software development projects
Work experience in DevOps and as a full-stack developer
Fluent in JavaScript (and frameworks), Python, PHP
Experience working with ESB, API Management / Gateway software
Knowledge of RESTful API standards and protocols and API development using REST/JSON and SOAP/XML Web services.
Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews
Source control management, build processes, testing and operation.
