Plant Operator at Victoria Water Services Limited

Job Brief

We are seeking the services of a dedicated and safety-conscious Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling plant equipment and systems to ensure smooth, safe and efficient operation. You will play a critical role in maintaining product output, quality standards and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to system alerts or malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Adjust controls, valves, pumps and systems to regulate production process.
• Record operating data such as readings, flow, pressures, etc. at regular intervals.
• Detect and respond to abnormal operating conditions and system alarms.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance as needed.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with safety protocols.
• Report any equipment faults, safety hazards or irregularities immediately.

Requirements

• OND/HND or relevant technical certification in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field.
• Prior proven experience as a Plant Operator or in similar role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of plant processes, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read gauges, meters and technical schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and respond to plant emergencies.
• Experience in water treatment, power generation or related industries.
• Live within Ajah and its environs.
