We are seeking an experienced Project Planning Engineer with 6 -8 years of experience in managing and controlling an ICSS project for an international Oil Company in Nigeria. The Project Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintain schedule and cost baselines, ensuring the project meets all financial, and schedule objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in project planning in Primavera P6 software, S curves, variance reporting, recovery measures, progress reporting, invoicing. This role requires someone who is adept at ensuring project cost and schedule control, meeting project milestones, and achieving cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the project plan in Primavera P6.
Conducting weekly and monthly progress meetings with the customer on schedule, action items, progress reporting, invoicing status, invoice preparation and prepare MOMs and monthly reports.
Ensure the project does not delay and advise and implement recovery plan.
Track project progress, monitor key milestones, and ensure timely communication of essential information to all stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project performance, open issues, and action items.
Identify and escalate any project completion impediments, ensuring swift resolution of any technical or scheduling challenges that may affect project delivery.
Work closely with project teams, engineers, and management to ensure that technical challenges are addressed, and the project team is fully supported in meeting project goals. Compile weekly worked achieved and planned work for the next week.
Ensure that all project controls systems are in place to monitor and manage project costs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field).
6 - 8 years of experience in project controls and management for EPC projects, with a strong focus on Integrated control and safety systems.
Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, progress reporting, and cost management principles
Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6
PMP certification or other project management certifications are a plus.
Proven experience managing project controls for complex projects in the oil and gas sector, with a specific focus on integrated control and safety systems
Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex project schedules, ensure cost efficiency, and deliver projects within agreed timelines.
Experience in integrating technical, schedule, and cost controls to drive successful project outcomes.
