Pigging Specialist at Scruples Resources

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Plan and execute pipeline pigging operations for onshore and offshore pipelines.
• Select and prepare appropriate pigs based on pipeline condition, diameter, configuration, and operating requirements.
• Coordinate pig launching and receiving activities.
• Review pipeline drawings, P&IDs, pigging procedures, line lists, and pipeline operating data.
• Verify pipeline readiness before pigging operations.
• Monitor pig movement, pressure, flow, and operating conditions during pig runs.
• Coordinate with pipeline operations, production, maintenance, engineering, inspection, HSE, and logistics teams.
• Troubleshoot pigging problems such as stuck, delayed, or failed pig runs.
• Ensure pigging activities are performed safely and according to approved procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed pigging programs, procedures, risk assessments, and work packs.
• Inspect and verify the condition and suitability of pigs before deployment.
• Confirm launcher and receiver traps are correctly prepared and safe for operation.
• Verify valves, vents, drains, bypasses, isolation points, and associated equipment before pig launch.
• Supervise pig loading, launching, tracking, receiving, and removal.
• Monitor pipeline pressure, flow rate, differential pressure, and other relevant operating parameters.
• Use appropriate pig tracking and detection equipment to monitor pig location.
• Coordinate conventional cleaning pigs, batching pigs, dewatering pigs, gauging pigs, and intelligent inspection tools as applicable.
• Support pipeline integrity activities, including intelligent pigging/in-line inspection (ILI).
• Inspect recovered pigs and document debris, deposits, corrosion products, or other findings.
• Coordinate cleaning, drying, displacement, batching, and product separation operations where required.
• Investigate abnormal pigging conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate safe handling and disposal of recovered debris, liquids, and contaminated materials.
• Maintain accurate pigging records, run reports, pressure profiles, and operational data.
• Prepare post-job reports and lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), JSA/JHA, LOTO, confined-space, pressure-control, and pipeline safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Pipeline, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in pipeline operations, pigging, pipeline maintenance, integrity management, or oil & gas pipeline services.
• Practical knowledge of pigging systems, pig types, launcher/receiver operations, and pipeline configurations.
• Experience with pig tracking, cleaning, gauging, batching, dewatering, and intelligent pigging is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, pipeline alignment sheets, isometrics, operating procedures, and pigging drawings.
• Knowledge of pipeline integrity, corrosion, flow assurance, and operational constraints is an advantage.
• Good understanding of pipeline pressure hazards, hydrocarbon hazards, and safe pigging practices.
• Experience coordinating contractors, specialist pigging companies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, planning, communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in onshore, offshore, terminals, flow stations, refineries, and pipeline facilities.
