Pellet Press Operator - Premier Feed Mills at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc

Purpose

• To operate and monitor pellet press machines for the production of high-quality poultry feed pellets and crumbs while ensuring optimal machine performance, product quality, and adherence to safety and operational standards.

The Job

• Preparing and setting up pellet press machines for the production of poultry feed pellets and crumbs.
• Monitoring and adjusting steam valves to regulate machine temperature during production.
• Adjusting ammeters and control valves to regulate the flow of raw materials into the machine.
• Operating and adjusting rollers to produce crumb feed that meets required specifications.
• Operating the bucket elevator system to transfer finished pellets to the designated feed bins.
• Monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments to achieve desired throughput and product quality.
• Conducting routine machine inspections and maintaining equipment in good operating condition.
• Promptly reporting machine faults and initiating maintenance work requests where necessary.
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.
• Maintaining accurate production and machine inspection records in line with operational requirements.

Qualification

• OND in a Science-related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years' cognate experience operating pellet press or similar manufacturing equipment.

The Person Must:

• Possess good knowledge of pellet mill operations and feed production processes.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Have a good understanding of production processes, quality control, and machine operations.
• Be safety conscious and able to adhere to workplace safety standards.
• Possess strong attention to detail and quality requirements.
