    P.H.E Teacher

    Key Responsibilties
    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Planning and delivering engaging, age appropriate Physical and Health Education lessons in line with the school's curriculum.
    • Teaching fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, athletics, games and other appropriate sporting activities.
    • Developing pupils' physical coordination, strength, endurance, confidence and overall fitness.
    • Organising structured drills, games, sporting activities and practical exercises.
    • Promoting teamwork, discipline, perseverance, respect and good sportsmanship.
    • Encouraging pupils to develop healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
    • Teaching appropriate principles of personal hygiene, health, nutrition, safety and general wellbeing.
    • Identifying pupils with sporting potential and supporting their development.
    • Preparing and coaching pupils for school sports competitions and relevant sporting events.
    • Supporting the planning and execution of the school's Sports Day and other sporting activities.
    • Differentiating physical activities to accommodate pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
    • Monitoring and assessing pupil participation, progress and performance.
    • Maintaining accurate lesson plans, assessment records and pupil progress records.
    • Inspecting sports facilities and equipment before use and reporting any hazards or defects immediately.
    • Ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed during all physical activities.
    • Responding appropriately to injuries or emergencies and reporting incidents in accordance with school procedures.
    • Ensuring sports equipment and facilities are used responsibly and properly maintained.
    • Collaborating with other teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and the school's wider talent development objectives.
    • Incorporating appropriate Christian principles and values such as discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork, integrity and responsible stewardship into teaching and coaching.
    • Maintaining professional relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and Management.
    • Participating in relevant school activities, meetings and professional development programmes.
    • Carrying out any other reasonable duties assigned by Management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Candidates must meet the following requirements:
    • A Bachelor's degree from a reputable A list university with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in Physical and Health Education, Human Kinetics, Sports Science, Physical Education, Education or a related discipline.
    • Valid TRCN registration/certification is mandatory.
    • A minimum of 2 years' relevant teaching or coaching experience, preferably within a reputable school environment.
    • Strong knowledge of Physical and Health Education and age appropriate sporting activities.
    • Demonstrable ability to plan and deliver engaging practical lessons.
    • Good knowledge of child safety and appropriate supervision during physical activities.
    • Strong classroom and activity management skills.
    • First Aid or Basic Life Support certification will be an added advantage.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    •  Ability to work effectively with children of different ages, abilities and developmental needs.
