    National Nutrition Supply Chain Risk Profiling Consultant

    How Can You Make a Difference?

    • To strengthen systems, especially the health, food and social protection system to deliver high quality services, UNICEF supports Government and partners to procure and deliver nutrition commodities to the last mile.
    • The supply chain for the commodities is faced with risks at different points.
    • These challenges include, but are not limited to, poor planning development and forecasting, delays in procurement due to internal and external factors, losses in warehouses and during in-country distribution of the commodities, unforeseen expired inventory, fraud, and misuse/ leakage.
    • A National Nutrition Supply Chain Risk Profiling Consultant is required to review the past incidents for sustainable action.

    Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Supply and Logistics Section the consultant will:

    • Evaluate the risk profile of the UNICEF nutrition supply chain, for the past 5 years. The consultant should pay attention to external factors arising from seasonal changes, man-made or nature associated risks and profile the pattern of events. In addition to internal oversights, including grant expiry dates and arrival of supplies, etc. Also, insurance risks/ limitations.
    • Propose measures to mitigate risks, with clear timelines, internal and external roles and responsibilities. With a risk register matrix – with a workflow process.
    • Provide key orientations for the proposed plan of action.

    Requirements
    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

    • An Advanced University Degree (Master's or higher) in Supply chain or Finance (Audit) Management.
    • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in supply chain or finance (audit) operations in the UN, private sector, nutrition, or global health environment.
    • Experience in logistics operations, inventory management, or distribution management.
    • Experience in risk identification and management or internal controls.
    • Experience working in Nigeria health supply chain.

    Others:

    • Proven experience with Excel, ability to create calculations, look-up tables, and pivot tables.
    • Ability to organize and manage information.
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Fluency in written and spoken in English.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
    • Understanding development and humanitarian work is an advantage.

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 
    • The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
