    Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officers

    JOB ROLE

    • We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to support the planning, implementation, and reporting of impact monitoring and evaluation activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and effective use of data to inform decision-making and program improvement.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Support the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities across projects
    • Develop and manage data collection tools, matrices, and specifications to ensure accurate and reliable data capture.
    • Participate in fieldwork activities, including supervising and supporting primary data collection teams..
    • Code and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and prepare concise data summaries and insights
    • Produce update reports, progress reports, and evaluation documentation.
    • Train and supervise data collection teams, track fieldwork progress, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
    • Develop and manage knowledge systems and produce learning briefs to capture project insights.
    • Strong understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks and methodologies
    • Ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and experience in data collection design, data validation, and quality assurance processes.
    • Proficiency in data visualization, presentation development, and infographic preparation.
    • Experience supporting research reports, policy briefs, and learning documentation.
    • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation processes
    • Knowledge of project management tools, timelines, and documentation systems.

    QUALIFICATION

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Research Methods, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, research, or development programs.
    • Proven experience in impact monitoring, strategic reviews, program evaluation, and data-driven reporting.
