Position Overview
The MIS Associate is the primary data operator for field-based and partner operations. Reporting to the Regional MIS Manager, this role ensures that field data is verified, cleaned, and processed accurately; that partner databases are current; and that dashboards and reports reflect real-time programme performance.
This is a hands-on technical role. The right candidate is methodical, comfortable working independently under remote supervision, and takes direct ownership of data quality outcomes. Key focal areas are on data systems, verification queues, and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Data Operations (40%)
Sales Verification & Quality Control
- Receive, process, and verify daily sales submissions from distribution partners across Nigeria.
- Apply structured data-cleaning protocols to flag errors, duplicates, and incomplete records.
- Maintain the verification queue with a time-bound target turnaround
- Maintain the log of all flagged cases with clear documentation of the issue and resolution
Database Management
- Update and maintain partner databases covering inventory, sales records, and agent performance.
- Monitor serialization systems to prevent duplication
- Generate scheduled data extracts (daily, weekly, monthly) for reporting and compliance purposes
- Maintain version control on all working spreadsheets and shared databases
Monitoring & Compliance (25%)
- Compile and maintain organized documentation for internal and third-party audit requirements.s
- Conduct audit reviews to identify and resolve data integrity issues
- Ensure all data logs meet compliance standards for performance verification
- Review field activity data against project targets and flag anomalies to the supervisor
- Maintain a consistently structured digital filing system across shared drives
Partner & Call Centre Support (20%)
- Serve as first-line technical support for call center staff on data submission and system queries.
- Troubleshoot ODK / Kobo Toolbox form submissions and field data-collection errors
- Support partner organizations with database access, reporting queries, and data quality standards
- Deliver targeted training refreshers with partners and their sales agents/resellers.
Reporting & Documentation (15%)
- Maintain real-time dashboards covering sales volume, inventory, verification status, and partner performance.
- Produce weekly performance reports for the Regional MIS Manager and Senior Leadership.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and data pulls as requested
- Document technical processes and SOPs in the shared MIS Toolbox (institutional knowledge base)
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Candidates with a relevant diploma and 2+ years of demonstrated MIS/data experience will be considered.
Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Google Sheets / Excel-Advanced: VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, data validation rules, conditional formatting, named ranges, and array formulas. Candidates will be assessed on this during the selection process.
- Mobile Data Collection: Hands-on experience building or troubleshooting ODK (Open Data Kit) or Kobo Toolbox forms and submissions.
- Data Quality Practices: Demonstrated ability to design and apply data-cleaning protocols, identify anomalies, and maintain audit trails.
- Google Workspace: Proficient in Drive (folder structure, permissions, version control), Docs, and Forms.
- Dashboard Management: Experience maintaining live dashboards (Google Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI); able to update data sources and troubleshoot without supervision.
Experience
- 1–3 years in a data management, MIS, M&E, or data operations role.
- Exposure to clean energy or environmental monitoring is an advantage
- Experience working under remote supervision or supporting remote teams is a plus

Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying structured databases.
- Basic scripting in Python or R for data cleaning or automation.
- Experience with Salesforce, Airtable, or similar CRM / database platforms.
- Familiarity with carbon credit MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) requirements.
- Prior experience in a remote-supervised or multi-country programme environment.
Working Conditions
- Office-based in Abuja, Nigeria
- Primary supervision is remote — the Regional MIS Manager (Uganda) conducts routine video check-ins.s
- Computer-intensive role: data platforms, spreadsheets, dashboards, and communication tools
- Occasional travel to partner or field sites may be required.
