    Minerals Procurement Executive

    Coordinates the full-cycle procurement process including vendor sourcing and management, price negotiation, purchase order execution, and timely delivery of mineral products. Ensures the purchase of high-quality mineral products while maintaining cost efficiency. Liaises with internal departments and suppliers to analyze and compare product parameters and negotiate procurement contracts on behalf of the company.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, availability, and production.
    • Evaluates supplier's distribution capabilities, reputation, and history.
    • Negotiates, renegotiates and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
    • Monitors and follows applicable laws and regulations and ensures the legality of contracts.
    • Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
    • Prepares purchase orders and reviews requisitions for minerals and logistic services.
    • Collects and analyzes data to ensure the company is making the best decisions.
    • Follows up with vendors to ensure timely supply and liaises with the finance team for prompt payment.
    • Ensures mineral products received correspond with purchase specifications.
    • Ensures accurate documentation and filing system for proposals, negotiation, and all other procurement correspondences.
    • Maintains excellent relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
    • Reports on procurement activities including deliveries, pending supplies, and payments.
    • Forecasts stock levels and initiates purchase requests when necessary.
    • Provides weekly, monthly, and annual reports on inventory and stock level.
    • Identifies and develops standard processes that address company procurement requirements.
    • Coordinates with warehouse and logistics team to maintain an optimal stock level of minerals products.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, economics, business administration, or any related field from an accredited institution.
    • CIPSMN certified.
    • CIPS certified.

    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools.
    • Proficient in the use of procurement software.
    • Technology savvy.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Thorough understanding of procurement and supply chain management, strategic sourcing, and e-procurement.
    • Strong knowledge of contracts and negotiation terms.
    • Strong research and analytical skills and ability to negotiate contracts.

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 - 5 years of experience as a procurement executive or supply chain executive within a logistics or mineral trading company.
