Medical Officer - Enugu at Sigma Consult

Salary Range: Minimum of N375,000.00

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Officer to provide general medical care and patient management in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality care. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing patients’ health conditions while collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general medical care and patient management, including diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients’ health conditions.
• Conduct medical assessments, take patient histories, and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assist in making informed medical decisions.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, including specialists, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information in medical records.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.
• Participate in emergency medical care as needed.
• Stay updated on medical developments and apply evidence-based practices in patient care.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices in medical care.

Qualifications/Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
• A current practicing medical license.
• NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.
• Previous experience in general medical practice is desirable, but fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Other Requirements:

• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Highly motivated team player with a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
• An interest in neurosurgery is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.
