Job Description

• The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory investigations to support clinical diagnosis and patient care within KTHSMB healthcare facilities. The role involves collecting and processing samples, conducting tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality control and biosafety standards. The technician will work under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable laboratory results.

 Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, etc.)
• Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, and biochemistry
• Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory supplies
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control procedures
• Adhere to biosafety and infection prevention protocols
• Record and report test results accurately
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation
• Assist in sample storage and disposal according to standards
• Support laboratory scientists and clinicians in diagnostic processes

 Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• Basic laboratory testing and sample handling skills
• Knowledge of biosafety and infection control
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Relevant experience
