Medical laboratory Nurse / Phlebotomist at Body Affairs Diagnostics

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will work in the front office and closely with the Laboratory team to provide the best service /care to our patients. Ensure efficient phlebotomy and deliver excellent customer service aligned with the organizational goals.

• Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
• Perform, collect, and label lab tests for sending out to the Laboratory.
• Collecting blood and specimen samples from patients and donors and labeling all
• collected samples accurately for tests as in the Job description.
• Entering data for patients into an electronic medical record (EMR / LIMS).
• Protecting patient privacy rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
• Clean and sterilize both instruments and equipment after use.
• Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain frequent communication with the Laboratory.

EDUCATION

• Diploma in Nursing or Phlebotomy or related field
• BSc and above will be an added advantage
• 1-3 years proven experience

SKILLS

• Professional certification in phlebotomy from a recognized program
• Vaccination
• Ability to successfully draw blood from patients with minimal or no complications
• Empathy and interpersonal skills for working with patients
• Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring patient confidentiality
• Excellent motor skills and the ability to stand for long periods
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Data entry and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
